Towers of Tomorrow with LEGO® Bricks:

Towers of Tomorrow with LEGO® Bricks at Rockhampton Art Gallery combines architecture and design in an interactive space.

Visitors are invited to create their own ‘towers of tomorrow’ with over 200,000 loose LEGO® bricks featured in hands-on construction areas.

There are five sessions daily including 10am to 11.30am, 11.30am to 1pm, 1pm to 2.30pm, 2.30pm to 4pm, 4pm to 5.30pm.

Lively Book Club:

Discover a range of new titles, authors and genres with other keen readers on your book club journey. 7pm-8pm at the Rockhampton Regional Library.

Wine and Watercolour: 

A monthly program that provides the night out you need. Join friends or make new ones at a relaxed class that lets you unwind and experiment in a time and space just for you. 7pm-9pm at Rockhampton Art Gallery, Beatrice Hutton Room. $30 per session.

Yoga in the Gallery with Shelly McArdle: 

Combine more than one love, for the healthy mind and healthy body try Rockhampton’s newest exercise location, Rockhampton Art Gallery. Kick off your morning with an exercise fix and see our latest exhibitions while holding your yoga pose. 7-8am every Wednesday (entry from 6.50am).

THURSDAY, FEBRUARY 9

Collection Tour:

Get to know the Rockhampton Art Gallery Collection. A true gem of Australia’s cultural fabric the Gallery’s collection is a prime example of Modernist Australia painting. 2pm-245pm every Thursday at Rockhampton Art Gallery.

Lively Stories: 

Enjoy the drama and playfulness of a storytelling session at the library. Sessions may include told and read stories, poetry, chants, raps, songs, music and a simple craft activity. 10am-11am at the North Rockhampton Library.

HeartMoves: 

Low level cardiovascular fitness suitable for older Australians and people who are not mobile or do not regularly engage in physical activity. 11:45am-12:45pm at GoodLife Health Club, 147 Robinson Street, North Rockhampton.

Fit 360: 

Group based functional fitness classes (resistance and cardio). Suitable for all ages and fitness levels. 8:45am-9:45am at CrossFitCQ, 54 Bolsover St, Rockhampton.

Wine & Cheese Appreciation: 

A casual, fun night of wine tasting, paired with delicious cheeses. Bookings essential. Just $10 per person. Tickets available from Absolutely Beautiful Flowers 1/392 Dean St or Sunpalms Hotel Motel 160

FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 10

Library Lovers’ Movies: 

‘Love means never having to say your sorry.’ Bring your tissues as we screen a selection of classic romantic movies in the lead up to Library Lover’s Day. All movies will be shown in the Fitzroy Room at the Rockhampton Regional Library at 10am-12pm.

Lively Literary Trivia:

Come along to the Lively Trivia and have fun answering lots of questions about books. Gather together a team or make new friends on the day. 10am-11.30am at the North Rockhampton Library.

Lively Rhyme Time: 

Introduce your child to the wonderful world of books and stories through imaginative play, drama, song, dance and fingerplays. Lively Rhyme Time will take place at the North Rockhampton Library, Mount Morgan Library and Gracemere Community Hall, from 10am-11am.

Comedy Open Mic Night: 

Think you’re funny? Get together five minutes of your best jokes, and show us what you can do. his free event provides stage time and career development to Rocky residents who’d like to try their hand at stand up comedy, and is a great free night out with entertainment by our undiscovered local talent. House band from 7:30pm, open mic from 8:30pm at the The Red Dahlia Bar in East St, Rockhampton.

Friday Night Skating: 

Skating sessions consist of general skating, games and time for experienced skaters. Everyone is welcome to come along and have some good old fashioned fun on skates. Canteen facilities will operate for the sale of drinks and snacks. 7pm-9.30pm at Gate 6, Rockhampton Showgrounds, Lion Creek Road, Wandal.

Young Guns Rodeo Series Round 2:

Catch all the action of junior bull riding, steer riding and barrel racing at Rockhampton’s Great Western Hotel from 6pm.
